Model 7X00 Family
Problem: An industrial scale manufacturing company had eight different models of scales they were selling. Each model model required three unique printed circuit board assemblies. They also required many other unique parts. The number of products adversely affected production time, inventory, delivery and customer satisfaction.
Solution: We evaluated the current product line and designed a new product family. The new product family replaced all of the existing products and added three new products. All of the products were based on six printed circuit board assemblies. The new family allowed the manufacturer to reduce the time to produce any specific product, decrease inventory value, deliver the product the customer wanted and increase customer satisfaction.
